I think like many little girls (and I suspect a few boys), I was fascinated with my grandma's button box. I could spend hours pouring over the many shapes and patterns jumbled together. They often served as an inspiration to other projects I was doing at the time.
So it only seemed natural that I would turn to buttons to get me out of this little slump I have been in lately. So are the results of this recent project~

I used to make primitive dolls and so the buttons of course have that primitive style about them. Not sure how to display them I happened upon my stash of old postcards; I have used them in the past to hold brooches so it seemed a natural idea.
These can be used on clothing but it would be best to hand wash the item and keep away from heat. What I really had in mind was the primitive doll maker. I have used acrylic paint and Gilders Paste, lots of sanding and a finishing spray.
Thank's for looking! And now I'm ready for my close-up!
